So why\u00a0<strong>21<\/strong>? Just guessing here, but you may recall the whole turn-ahead-the-clock jersey fiasco was a marketing trainwreck hatched by the geniuses at realty company Century 21. The game, they wanted us to imagine, took place in the Year 2021 (wow! That far ahead?)<\/p>\n<p>Until now the best photo we&#8217;d had of Mercury Mets attire came from Dave Murray, aka\u00a0<strong>Mets Guy in Michigan<\/strong>, who this week declared\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mbtn.net\/?page_id=1905\"><em>Mets by the Numbers<\/em><\/a><\/strong>\u00a0to be\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/metsguyinmichigan.blogspot.com\/2008\/03\/mets-by-numbers-awesome-read-with-one.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;the best book ever written.&#8221;<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0Aw&#8230; Thanks!<\/p>\n<p>And speaking of the greatest blogger of all-time, joining Dave on the links column to the left is\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nonohitters.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">No No-Hitters<\/a><\/strong>, a site devoted to the New York Mets\u2019 dubious streak of having never pitched a no hitter in franchise history. Personally I find no-hitters just random enough events to not-so-secretly hope this streak continues for another 46 years. I was\u00a0<em>relieved\u00a0<\/em>when Glavine\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nonohitters.com\/onehitters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">choked one away in 2004.\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>Glavine? In 2004?
