That font by the way looks a lot chunkier than that which we&#8217;ve become accustomed to, and we needen&#8217;t get into the icky use of a separate nameplate. That&#8217;s a lot of mileage from a single game.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Greg<\/strong>\u00a0(you should read his\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/faithandfear.blogharbor.com\/\">blog<\/a><\/strong>) in the meantime confirmed\u00a0<strong>Rory&#8217;s<\/strong>\u00a0earlier contention that\u00a0<strong>Alex Trevi\u00f1o<\/strong>\u00a0in 1980 was the first Met to sport a tilde. Stephen also recounts that\u00a0<strong>Jeff Reardon<\/strong>\u00a0requested\u00a0<strong>No.<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>41<\/strong>\u00a0when he arrived as a Met and couldn&#8217;t understand that if it hadn&#8217;t been retired yet why equipment manager\u00a0<strong>Herb Norman\u00a0<\/strong>wouldn&#8217;t issue it to him. &#8220;So he settled for\u00a0<strong>45<\/strong>.
