{"id":608,"date":"2006-08-30T15:27:55","date_gmt":"2006-08-30T15:27:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.beta.mbtn.net\/?p=608"},"modified":"2013-11-30T15:29:43","modified_gmt":"2013-11-30T15:29:43","slug":"tim-bogar-lives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mbtn.net\/?p=608","title":{"rendered":"Tim Bogar Lives"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Mets this afternoon announced they had traded one-time prospect\u00a0<strong>Victor Diaz,<\/strong>\u00a0a former wearer of the<strong>\u00a050 and 20<\/strong>\u00a0jerseys, to the Texas Rangers in exchange for minor league catcher\u00a0<strong>Mike Nickeas.<\/strong>\u00a0Ordinarily, we wouldn&#8217;t get all excited over an exchange of minor leagers (Nickeas has been assigned to Class A St. Lucie), but this particular one provides hope that the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mbtn.net\/41-50.htm#chain\">Tim Bogar Trade Chain<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0may live again after last rites had been administered. Bogar at the beginning of this season was the oldest Met who could be connected by trade to current Met(s), but Diaz&#8217; designation last week nearly spelled the end seeing as injuries already put the futures of pitchers\u00a0<strong>Bartolome Fortunato and Victor Zambrano<\/strong>\u00a0in similar danger. Bogar who debuted with the Mets in 1993, was traded to Houston for\u00a0<strong>Luis Lopez,\u00a0<\/strong>who went to Milwaukee for\u00a0<strong>Bill Pulsipher,\u00a0<\/strong>who went to Arizona for<strong>Lenny Harris,<\/strong>\u00a0who went to Milwaukee for\u00a0<strong>Jeromy Burnitz,<\/strong>\u00a0whose trade to Los Angeles yeilded\u00a0<strong>Victor Diaz\u00a0<\/strong>and minor leaguer\u00a0<strong>Joselo Diaz;<\/strong>\u00a0the latter brought back\u00a0<strong>Zambrano<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Fortunato<\/strong>\u00a0in the regrettable\u00a0<strong>Scott Kazmir\u00a0<\/strong>trade. So here&#8217;s to the future of young Mike Nickeas, which hopefully includes a part in a multiplayer trade.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">* * *<\/p>\n<p>Still waiting for official word, but the Norfolk Tides today announced that\u00a0<strong>Anderson Hernandez\u00a0<\/strong>is on his way back to the Mets, perhaps as the first of the September call-ups.
