{"id":1195,"date":"2009-05-16T14:54:26","date_gmt":"2009-05-16T14:54:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.beta.mbtn.net\/?p=1195"},"modified":"2013-12-07T14:55:51","modified_gmt":"2013-12-07T14:55:51","slug":"angels-in-the-outfield","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mbtn.net\/?p=1195","title":{"rendered":"Angel&#8217;s in the Outfield"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.beta.mbtn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/16.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-99\" alt=\"16\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beta.mbtn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/16.gif\" width=\"42\" height=\"48\" \/><\/a>This team already has that quality of looking terrific when it wins and ghastly when it loses, which I guess is a good sign because it indicates an expectation of victory accompanies us most nights, and so managing my own moods as they proceed through a long season is going to be challenging at times.<\/p>\n<p>What I like about this team however has been on display this weekend in San Francisco, where a guy who replaced\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mbtn.net\/player\/anderson-marlon\">Marlon Anderson<\/a>\u00a0on the bench can sub in, legitimately, at cleanup, while the choice of which guy to back up at first base or at short in a pinch isn&#8217;t an automatic crippling. And where a rookie can go from capably filling in for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mbtn.net\/player\/green-sean\">Sean Green<\/a>\u00a0to capably replacing\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mbtn.net\/player\/putz-jj\">JJ Putz<\/a>\u00a0on consecutive nights. They&#8217;re still a little too sloppy for my liking but what&#8217;s not to like about beating up on Tim Lincecum, Randy Johnson and Brian Wilson: No slouches there.<\/p>\n<p>As you probably noticed they&#8217;ve done it without\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mbtn.net\/player\/delgado-carlos\">Carlos Delgado<\/a>\u00a0who&#8217;s going to be out for a long stretch, probably.
