{"id":1193,"date":"2009-05-13T14:44:58","date_gmt":"2009-05-13T14:44:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.beta.mbtn.net\/?p=1193"},"modified":"2013-12-07T14:53:46","modified_gmt":"2013-12-07T14:53:46","slug":"impinged","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mbtn.net\/?p=1193","title":{"rendered":"Impinged"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nothing like making dumb play after dumb play and damn near getting swept at home by the Braves to take all the good feelings out of a seven-game win streak; then again there&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mbtn.net\/player\/delgado-carlos\">Carlos Delgado<\/a>&#8216;s hip,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mbtn.net\/player\/reyes-jose\">Jose Reyes<\/a>&#8216; hopelessly casual attitude, the fact that\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mbtn.net\/player\/putz-jj\">JJ Putz<\/a>\u00a0can&#8217;t finish an inning in under 15 minutes,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mbtn.net\/player\/manuel-jerry\">Jerry Manuel<\/a>&#8216;s continued baffling moves, and perhaps the season&#8217;s toughest road trip ahead of us, so don&#8217;t feel too bad yet.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Chill out and make a good play, Jose\" alt=\"Chill out and make a good play, Jose\" src=\"http:\/\/mbtn.net\/images\/reyes-black2.jpg\" align=\"right\" \/>The flight to san Francisco tonight &#8212; a long one, and they deserve it &#8212; won&#8217;t include\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mbtn.net\/player\/niese-jon\">Jon Niese<\/a>, whose been optioned back to Buffalo after a subpar outing in his second turn as\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mbtn.net\/player\/perez-oliver\">Oliver Perez<\/a>&#8216;s stand-in. His seat goes instead to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mbtn.net\/player\/figueroa-nelson\">Nelson Figueroa<\/a>, who never made good on his threat to leave but may stick around for some time considering the sudden back-of-the-bullpen struggles of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mbtn.net\/player\/takahashi-ken\">Ken Takahashi<\/a>. Niese&#8217;s next start, it would seem, would go to\u00a0<strong>Tim Redding<\/strong>\u00a0as long as his Buffalo tune-ups continue progressing.<\/p>\n<p>Delgado in the meantime appears headed to the disabled list, the Mets having compromised their bench for the requisite number of games without even a diagnosis of what&#8217;s actually bothering him.
