Back in college I knew a girl who thought the John Fogarty song “centerfield” was about airline travel.<\/p>\n

“Put me in coach,” right?<\/p>\n

Right. And thanks to MBTN reader David, we can officially put in the coaches for the 2009 Mets, at least their assigned numbers:<\/p>\n

David also provided news the Mets would suit\u00a0Tony Armas<\/strong>\u00a0in\u00a0No. 91.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"For Niemann, 55 marks his sixth different Met uni number: He wore Nos.\u00a046<\/a>and\u00a040\u00a0<\/a>over parts of two seasons as a player and\u00a045<\/a>,\u00a048<\/a>, and\u00a052<\/a>\u00a0previously as a coach. Alicea, whom I’ve already mentally confused with\u00a0Luis Aguayo<\/a>, and Shines are new to the Mets this year.<\/p>\n

You may see above, alongside arrangements listing players\u00a0alphabetically\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>and by\u00a0number<\/a><\/strong>, the\u00a0Rosters by Year<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0link takes you to a page from which you can call up a list of all the players who served during a particular season. The numerical proceeding looks a little goofy but hopefully we can solve that eventually.<\/p>\n

Consider this innovation the first little bit of the site’s\u00a010th anniversary celebration<\/strong>. MBTN went live for the first time, Feb. 22, 1999, 10 years ago Sunday.<\/p>\n
