As discussed earlier this

As discussed earlier this season in this post, and confirmed by repeated resistance to trade him for free-agent relief help, the Mets have high hopes for 19-year-old outfielder Fernando Martinez, currently resting a hammy in AA but considered an option to improve our lousy offense this season. We already started a guessing game there and we'll continue here.

The available choices constitute numbers nominally available between 1 and 50, plus 58 since that was someone's guess in the earlier contest.

I just voted for 8. Sorry,

I just voted for 8. Sorry, Gary. I had 'em at 6 earlier.

I think 16 is the number for

#24 is mothballed mainly for

#24 is mothballed mainly for Mays' contributions with the NY Giants, similar to the Brewers' retiring #44 for Henry Aaron's play with the Milwaukee Braves.

 #8 should not be

#8 should not be mothballed. yeah its great Carter came here and helped us win, But if your going to but a number on ice let it be #17. He put us back on the map and help this team and franchise in a hundred of different ways.

But that just one fans opinion
